If you like the grind of combat, there are quite a few leveling mods that take the enemy to your level (or even higher) so that challenge remains. If you love discovering new loot all the time, do not do this one, as you'll get pretty much all the gear you want pretty early and the rest of the game will be boring. This can make or break the fun in the game. Once you do get to modding, there are quite a few mods that cause your gear to level with you. If you play dos2 without it, it is far better just based on quality of life enhancements than the original. The unleashed mod you mentioned changes a lot about the combat of the game, more than just numbers, making it almost as if someone who loved dos2 said "I could write that game better", and did. I beat dos2 about 12 times before I started using mods, and while some of them are great, they offer a lot of changes that can take some getting used to.
